TERRA PRETA was founded and is run by Vasile TURCU, after he pursued his PhD in Soil Science (Soil Physics) at Utah State University, Department of Plants, Soils, and Biometeorology. He also worked for a total of 3 years as engineer and researcher at the National Meteorological Administration - Bucharest, ROMANIA, within the Agrometeorology Laboratory. Vasile's main research interests are:2 flux and soil respiration;
Soil-plant-atmosphere gas and energy exchange;
Micrometeorology (eddy-covariance methods);
Agrometeorology and sustainable development.
